AIR 2011 is an artist in residence program developed and managed by arts@work in partnership with the Australia Council for the Arts.

This project was assisted through Arts Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts and by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.

In its second year the 2011 AIR program will see seven artists working in six selected Tasmanian Department of Education Schools around the state.

Creating an intersection between artists and schools, this program includes opportunities for artists or groups of artists to acquire new skills in an education environment while developing their professional practice. The residencies offer students and staff exposure to artists and their practice and the chance to learn specialised skills through both watching and working with professional artists.
